Turning one is a big deal—and cake smash sessions are the perfect way to celebrate your little one’s very first birthday! These sessions are full of fun, sweet moments, and just the right amount of mess.
Cake smashes take place in my studio and include everything you need: a styled setup, access to my collection of outfits, and props to match your theme or color palette. We’ll work together ahead of time to choose a look that fits your vision!
The session starts with some clean, classic portraits of your child before we bring out the cake. Then we let them dig in, explore, and have fun while I capture all the smiles, curiosity, and cake-covered fingers.
After the smash, we’ll wrap up with a quick clean-up shot in a small tub.

It’s best to book your session at least 4–8 weeks in advance to allow time for planning and setup.
When should the cake smash session take place?
Around 11 months old, so the photos are ready in time for their first birthday.
Do you provide the cake?
I do for babies WITHOUT allergies. If your child has allergies, I do not provide the cake. I ask that parents bring a small, simple cake—nothing too hard or heavily iced works best for smashing and easy cleanup. I’m happy to offer size and color suggestions to match your setup.
Can I choose a theme or color scheme?
Yes! I offer both simple, timeless setups and more playful, themed designs. We’ll chat beforehand to go over your preferences and create a look that fits your style and vision.

Do you provide outfits and props?
Yes! I have a selection of outfits and accessories that photograph beautifully. You’re welcome to use anything from my client closet, or bring your own if you have something special in mind.
What should I bring to the session?
Please bring a towel, a change of clothes, wipes, and snacks or a favorite toy if needed. I’ll take care of the rest!
Can we include family or sibling photos?
If you choose the package that includes family photos, absolutely! These will take place at the beginning of the session.
How long does the session last?
Cake smash sessions typically last about 45–60 minutes. That gives us time for clean portraits, the smash itself, and (if you choose) a quick bath setup afterward.
